We've said all along, ready or not, we leave September 1, 2012. Everyday Valhalla is looking more and more like a cruising boat with many new improvements. She has a newly designed anchor locker to accommodate an electric windless. Since refrigeration has been a part of our daily lives forever and a luxury we want while cruising, we got her a new 125 watt solar panel to help with the electrical demand. The solar panel sits on top of newly installed dingy davits. Valhalla just grew 2 feet longer! Inside we've been cleaning organizing, & downsizing trying to make room for the necessary things to bring along.
Our crew is set and ready and even though people say, "you'll never be completely ready", I guess that's what we mean by "ready or not". It's going to be a trip of a lifetime, but strange to think about how big this first step is and that we won't be in our slip this time next month. However, we are looking forward to the many beautiful places we will see and to meeting lot's of new cruising friends along the way.
